Riad Fes - Relais & Châteaux 5*

Hello everyone ! Today i'm coming to you with the longest article yet on the Blog !
If you follow me on Instagram and my other Social Media, you'll know how much i loved it there and how many pictures i took since i was absolutely and completely in love with this beyond stunning five stars Riad in the Medieval City.

We took the road by the end of the day so it was a night road trip and you know how much i love those ! We checked-In late at night and since The Director of Operations - Sales & Marketing and Maîtresse de Maison as said in French was our Hostess and THE most amazing and thoughtfull one, some delicious food was waiting for us in our Suite.

The Room was a pure Moroccan Architecture Heaven full of stunning details of handmade pieces of Art ( as the whole Riad was in fact ! ) and i was in awe the minute i stepped foot in it..

And i'm not even talking about the comfort and the cozyness and the Luxuriousness of the Suite..

Since Riad Fes is a Relais & Châteaux affiliate Luxury was everywhere.. Even in the bathrooms ! ^^

So i enjoyed my late dinner in the most comfortable situation and slept over-excited at the thought of what was waiting to be discovered the next morning..

Next morning we woke up to head to breakfast and we were so pleasantly surprised by a stunning view over the whole Médina from the outside of our Suite which by the way had a cute little sitting area we didn't see arriving at night time..

We were lucky to have a perfectly warm and sunny day in the middle of a cold January, and especially because we left a rainy gloomy Casablanca ! So much of a needed change in only 4 hours drive ! Oh Morocco..
So to get to the Restaurant where breakfast was served, we walked through a dazzling decor in the Outdoors/Indoors of the Riad. ( Only if you have visited a Riad before you would understand that :D ). See, Riads are a real wonder of Moroccan Architecture, They are houses built inwards, so what you mainly see from the outside is a plain mud walls with small windows and a small door, but once you enter, there is a whole other world waiting for you inside ! With indoor backyards and fountains and trees and so many amazing things !

So we had our amazingly rich, variated and delicious breakfast and then of course it was time to snap some pictures !

Every corner and every inch is so beautiful and everything is made with such a care for details..

Then i went back to our Suite for a quick change into a more fashionable outfit to take some serious Blogging photos ^^
Before doing that though we snapped some not so serious pictures in the sunny rooftop with it's gorgeous view over the Médina..

The Riad's interiro's details are absolutely astonishing ! And the Zelij work is outstanding..

So naturally, i couldn't stop myself from taking pictures. And that's why it's the longest article i have ever wrote !

Few hours after that it was Lunch time, and our hostess booked us in one of the Group's Restaurants located only few blocks away from the Riad, in front of a wonderfull park.
The walk to The Mezzanine Restaurant was lovely under a blue sky and through the Médina's old battlements.
Lunch was without a surprise a win ! Everything was so tastfull and yummy in the Restaurant's terrace !

We had a bunch of different Moroccan and Fassi specialties. Everything was so tasty !
And what made it even more enjoyable was this insane sun..

After having our bellies full of good things, we went for a walk in the Médina's little streets that lead us to some ancient buildings such as the El-Attarine Medersa which is a university built in 1320. In fact, Fez is home to a rich cultural heritage due to it's status as the country's former capital. Founded between 789 and 809, Fez was reffered to as the cultural and economic center of Morocco and has one of the oldest universities in the World : Al Quaraouiyine university.
El Attarine Medersa was really a breathtaking place to see. I was so amazed by the perfection of the details that are alsmot 700 years old and when i went upstairs to see the rooms with the little windows where the students used to sleep during their schooling time, i caught myself picturing the people and the atmosphere of back then..

Then we continued our discovery walk through the little alleys to be more and more amazed by the colors, the smells, to beautiful handmade items and the hustle of the Médina..

We ran back to the Riad which is luckily soo well located and near to EVERYTHING in the Médina, to catch the incredible view over the whole city at sunset time from our terrace..

I forgot to tell you that our suite had a pretty balcony too..

We jumped from a marvelous moment to another.. It was dinner time and let me tell you how mouth-watering everything was !
We walked again through the beautiful andalusian decors of the Riad to get to the beautiful restaurant and it was twice as magical by nighttime..

Nothing yet has topped that dinner in Riad Fes. Everything was PERFECT and SO delicious.

The next morning we decided to take our breakfast outside the restaurant in front of the cute little fountain since the weather was so nice ( a bit chilly ) but sunny again..

Then we wandered in the many sections of the Riad and landed in the Barok section that possesses several rooms and suites and can be privatized, which is the perfect plan for a family that want a whole section of the riad for themselves.

I then quickly changed my outfit again to match the Riad's courtyard ( when i tell you this Riad is huge ! believe me it is ! and i didn't even take pictures in the pool section nor the rooftop since it was being renovated ^^ )
The word Riad comes from the Arabian term for Garden. Every Traditional Moroccan house ( Riad ) has a central garden and every central garden often has orange or lemon trees ! It was a little peace of heaven..

Every door in this Riad hid some mind blowing decors..

We then said goodbye to this marvelous Riad and took the road back to Casablanca with a heart and a mind ( and our bellies ^^ ) full of beautiful memories.

Thank you Riad Fes for your invitation and for this incredible luxury stay, and a special thanks to our hostess Awa that was simply amazing to us. Can't wait to be back again !
