9 Places to take a Road Trip to in Morocco

Road Trips around Morocco are a really beautiful and fulfilling experience. There's a feeling i still can't put into words i get everytime i take the road to a new destination.
Seeing new sceneries, discovering new roads, seeing how impressive nature can be, and feeling your soul being nourished by what you see around you is a pretty awesome thing. Plus, Morocco is really a stunning country where you get to experience all kinds of sceneries : Mountains, Lakes, Beaches, Deserts and forests..


So, when you feel the weight of life, routine or work putting you down, take your car and go to one ( maybe all ^^ ) of these places :

OUALIDIA 

Only 2 hours away from Casablanca and you're in a completely different world ! You can enjoy a simple quiet life in this small coastal town with the most beautiful lagoon you'll see.
OUIRGANE

This stunning little village is only an hour and half away from Marrakech and the road to this beautiful hidden gem is as stunning as the scenery over the Atlas Mountains it offers ! Moreover, you will experience the most soul-resting sunsets ever !





AGAFAY DESERT

 Once again, when you're in need of a complete change of scenery but don't want to take a plane or drive 12 hours to get to a Desert.. The Luxurious Tents of the Scarabeo Camp are the place to be !
This incredible scenery is only 30km away from Marrakech ! can you believe it ? What are you waiting for to experience a night in a luxury camp in the middle of nowhere ?





ESSAOUIRA 

 When your heart is calling for the beach but also for some Moroccan History, beautiful Riads, some fun nights in the Médina and maybe some Gnawa Music..





OUARZAZATE

 This city is seriously so underrated ! It may seem like there is nothing interesting going on in Ouarzazate but that is simply a collectif illusion ! The Atlas studios where some of the biggest blockbusters like : Kingdom of heaven, The Gladiator and more were filmed, where all of the decors are still there for visitors to enjoy. The stunning Riads hidden in the middle of the city and the unmissable Kasbah Ait Benhaddou which is a World Heritage of UNESCO ( and so instagramable ). What else do you need to take your car and go see all these amazing things ?





FEZ

 I guess i don't even need to introduce this one to you guys ! Stunning Moroccan Architecture, highly delighful food, History, Handmade goodness, astonishing Riads and old houses.. You never have enough of Fès. And it's only 3 and half hours drive from Casablanca ! Believe me, it's worth the drive !





TAKERKOUST 

 Never seen a Dam before ? Lake Lalla Takerkoust is only 40 minutes away from Marrakech !
And it has some beautiful gesthouses where you can enjoy peace, quiet, a stunning starry sky at night and a beautiful scenery over the Atlas Mountains. You can also enjoy good meals and a splendid view over the Lake at le Relais du Lac Restaurant.





TAGHAZOUT 

 Are you a surf addict ? or any other water activities ? Golfing maybe ? or do you simply want to enjoy the beach and some wonderful hotels ? Well, this spot is for you then.
This pleasing little coastal town is only 30 minutes away from Agadir in south Morocco for you to enjoy the sun and the fun even in winter.





CHAOUEN

 If it's not south it's north ! The well known blue city is full of culture and amazing sceneries over the Imposing Rif's Mountains. If you are a nature lover you'll be in heaven and if you're into photography, your instagram feed will look heavenly BLUETIFUL ;)

Hello everyone ! Today I'm coming to you with a new destination, a new jem found among one of the smallest yet the cutest villages of Morocco... Tagadert Lodge. This dreamy sunset is still on my head though it's been a while now that I'm back to Casablanca. Three weeks ago we took the road on a friday evening to get to Oumnas Village or Tagadirt Village nearby Marrakech, only 25min to escape the hustle of the Red City and to be completely submerged in an amazing calm and serenity.. DAR TANJA Guest House, Tangier, Morocco

Today i'm here to talk to you about my recent relaxing getaway to one of the most beautiful Guest Houses in Tangier city. My first time visiting Tangier was in 2005 ( OMG yes 13 years ago !! ) and during winter, due to rain and storms i haven't really had the chance to see anything properly when i was there. Imsouane, Morocco

Hello everyone ! I am here today only few days after the previous article, to share with you my absolute destination-crush of this year ! Before starting out this article, I want to make sure that you guys know this, just in case ! : There are 3 roads that leads to Imsouane from Casablanca. One through Essaouira, One where you take the highway all the way to Agadir city and then take Taghazout's direction to arrive 1 hour later to Imsouane, and One ( that somehow for I don't know which reason my husband decided to choose.. ) that goes throught SO MANY villages between Marrakech and agadir, where we got lost for hours trying to find our way !  We were litteraly in the middle of nowhere and there was no signal and no GPS to helps us find the way to Imsouane. Hello again dear friends ! Today i will be taking you to a little ( but oh so traditional ! ) city. So many people were waiting for this article as they kept sending me questions about what to do there ? what to see ? where to stay ? how was the weather ? how was the road ? and on and on and on.. So here it is FINALY ! Enjoy... :) Ouarzazate 's trip was a 7 hours one. Many of you will scowl at the idea of being in a car for this long but if you are like me and you live for Road Trips you will enjoy it as if it was only a 2 hours ride ! The scenery was soo entertaining and enjoyable ! and we of course made some stops at some little villages with weird names but charming people to eat a bite and by bite i mean a TAJINE !
