IFRANE & MEKNES Cities

Today's post will be about a peacefull little city called IFRANE, MEKNES city, and the in betweens :) !
I took that road trip back in December 2015. The roads to these cities were so beautiful, it was a total scenery ! Coming from Casablanca the city of buildings and stress and.. nothing but buildings.. i was transported and delighted that my eyes could see something other that BUILDINGS.

Like all the cities around Morocco, Ifrane & Meknes have of course their part of Moroccan history and tradition. A lot of Handmade stuff are solde everywhere ! Platters, Slippers, Mini Tajines etc..

Meknes city was protected by 40km of walls back in the 17th century by the Alaouite Sultan named Moulay Ismail. The city kept some of these walls and they still are so impressive !

There are more historical monuments you could see like : Dar El Makhzen Palace : ( The sultans palace back in the 17th century ), Bab El Mansour : ( One of the most amazing artwork achieved by the Sultan Moulay Ismail in 1732 ), and lots of other monuments that we didn't have time to go visit ( sorry no pictures guys ! ).

Ifrane city on the other hand, is a beautiful small city where every moroccan goes on winter season to see and feel the cold ! Known by it's cold snowy winters and it's BIG BEAUTIFUL cedar trees, it is the favorite spot for the romantics and nature's lovers. It is also the Second Cleanest city in the world !

And of course you can't go to Ifrane without visiting the Good Ol' Lion statue ! ( This Statue was built in honor of the Moroccan Atlas Lions that lived in the atlas Mountains ).

Ifrane is located 233km away from Casablanca and 57km only from Meknes.
